VideoMode is a capturing method that allows you to simply walk the jobsite while your 360° camera captures the site, without you having to take each photo individually. Simply set up the VideoMode on the JobWalk App, locate yourself on the floor plan and VideoMode takes care of the rest.

IMPORTANT

The full VideoMode functionality is only available in the FARO Sphere XG Viewer which is available to all HoloBuilder customers. Please open the project with the VideoMode recordings in the Sphere XG Viewer to:

  • See the actual walking path as a trajectory connecting the waypoints on the floorplan.

  • Correct any misalignments of the video's trajectory - learn more.

  • Have the 360° images connected by the trajectory allowing for an even easier navigation when walking the site.

In the HoloBuilder Web Editor, you will only see the individual waypoints on the floorplan (no walking path) and simple icons connecting these to walk the site.

The VideoMode feature analyzes the captured 360° video and automatically organizes the corresponding 360° photos on your floor plan, creating a dense net of documentation.

Note:

As VideoMode is a Sphere XG/HoloBuilder add-on it might not be included in your current subscription. Please contact your trusted FARO contact or reach out to our support team at support@holobuilder.com to get access to it.

VideoMode in the HoloBuilder Web Editor

If you already captured one or multiple walks in the JobWalk App using VideoMode, you can do some more adjustments to these and review them in the HoloBuilder Web Editor.

Get started with VideoMode in the HoloBuilder Web Editor by opening the project via your HoloBuilder Enterprise Dashboard to which you have uploaded your 360 video data captured with VideoMode and the JobWalk app.

Categories and Filters

When capturing and uploading new 360 images using VideoMode, all related 360 images will automatically get tagged with a predefined category by the system called "VideoMode". This will allow you to isolate images captured with VideoMode from images captured with the basic or any other mode.

Based on this, you are able to filter the VideoMode scenes by using the filter options. This will allow you to only show the images of a selected path uploaded with the corresponding category.

The filtering works the exact same way as the basic HoloBuilder categories and filters by opening the filter settings and (de)selecting any filters as needed - learn more on how to use these here.

Walking your recorded path

With VideoMode, all 360 images of your path are automatically linked to it's previous and next capture to easily move along the path you walked while recording. The links will show up as an arrow inside your 360 images facing the direction your next/previous 360 image is located.

Walking the path:

You are able to move between the scenes by clicking on the Go to Scene Action Object on the scene.

IMPORTANT

Interacting with the arrows to switch to the next or previous image is only possible in the viewing mode and not directly in the editing mode. If you are currently editing your project, switch to the preview to test the links.

Note

In order to see the visualization of the actual walking path on the sheet as well as inside the 360 image, please open your project with the VideoMode capture on the Sphere XG Viewer.
