We're thrilled to announce the start of our early access to the new Dashboard for our HoloBuilder customers. The new Dashboard comes with everything you love about the HoloBuilder Dashboard, while providing enhanced capabilities for workspace admins and project teams alike, all packaged in a more modern and more user friendly design.

The early access provides you with an exclusive opportunity to be among the first to experience the power and potential of the new Dashboard. By joining us in this exciting phase, you'll gain unique insights into its capabilities and functionalities, while also influencing its development with your invaluable feedback.

What is “the new Dashboard”?

The new Dashboard is the first step to streamlining the user experience of all FARO and HoloBuilder customers into a unified platform. It’s been built from the ground up with the intention to offer a sleek, intuitive and modern environment for all your reality capture and construction progress documentation needs.

The new Dashboard is a free update that is going to be replacing the current HoloBuilder Dashboard later this year. Until then, we offer you the option to explore its capabilities and share your thoughts on how we can make it the perfect partner, so that you can get more work done that matters every day.

What does Early Access mean?

  • As an Enterprise Admin, you have the ability to explore the new Dashboard without disrupting the daily operations of other members of the workspace.

  • As an Enterprise Admin, you can open your workspace in the new Dashboard and see all your projects, groups and workspace members in a new light.

  • Members with other workspace roles, including Group Managers, Project Manager, Enterprise Viewers as well as all members with project-level permissions (Project Admins, Project Editors and Project Viewers) do not have access to the new Dashboard directly unless you decide to.

What are the benefits of the Early Access?

  1. No disruption of day to day operations: Take your time to see what’s coming without distracting your workspace members, including group- and project managers.

  2. Be Ahead of the Curve: Get a head start on harnessing the benefits of the new Dashboard before it officially hits the market for all HB customers. Learn about new workflows and tools to prepare yourself and the team at your own pace and time.

  3. Have full control over your team’s experience: As part of the early access, we will gradually give Enterprise Admins the option to open up access to the new Dashboard for other workspace members if they want to. Once you are ready to update your workspace, you can activate it for everyone with one simple click. The next time team members login, they will be redirected to the new Dashboard.

  4. Shape the Future: Your feedback matters! As an early adopter, you'll play a pivotal role in refining and shaping the ‘final’ version of the new Dashboard. Your insights will directly impact its features, usability, and overall performance. Our product and support teams are eager to connect with you directly and make sure that you get the most out of your experience

How to get Early Access?

If you are an Enterprise Admin of your workspace, you will see the "Try the new dashboard" button in your HoloBuilder Dashboard at the bottom of the sidebar. This button is only visible to you! In addition, an informational pop-over will open automatically, which highlights what you can expect. Clicking the "Try the new dashboard" button will open it in a new tab. All your data is available.

Having the new Dashboard open in a new tab makes it easy to access the HoloBuilder Dashboard at any time. However, you don’t have to worry if you close the HoloBuilder Dashboard. We have added a "Switch to HoloBuilder" button to bring you back to the HoloBuilder Dashboard if you need to.

After opening the new Dashboard, a splash screen will automatically show and give you a short overview about the most important changes. We’ll continue to update you on what’s new in a similar fashion. Similar to the access rights, this splash screen will only be available to Enterprise Admins.

Frequently Asked Questions

Are there any costs involved?

No. The new Dashboard comes as a free update over the HoloBuilder Dashboard.

Do we have to use the Sphere Viewer now?

No, you don’t.

You have the option to decide how to open your projects. Either use the HoloBuilder WebEditor or the Sphere Viewer. As an Enterprise admin, you can set the default across all projects in the workspace settings. However, individuals can chose on a as-needed bases via a simple dropdown.

Does the new Dashboard include all features of the HoloBuilder Dashboard?

At the time of writing, the new Dashboard does not have

  • The Add-Ons gallery

  • Integrations (both workspace and project)

  • Templates

What about all other apps that I am/we are using?

Nothing changed, except for the fact that you can now start using and exploring the new Dashboard.

The early access is all about making it as convenient and effortless as possible for you to learn about the new application and, over time and once you are comfortable with it, allow you to update your workspace to always use the new Dashboard by default (and for free). The availability of all the other HoloBuilder apps you love and use on a daily basis has not changed:

  • You can still access your projects in the HoloBuilder WebEditor through the new Dashboard

  • Your projects will still be updated with all your reality-capture data taken with our JobWalk App

  • All your data is still stored at the same location that is/was stored before

All that changed is that you have access to a new powerful application at an early stage, with the opportunity to influence its development roadmap and directly engaging with the product team.

What’s next?

We will continue to update Enterprise Admins about the next phases, updates to the product and more directly through the new Dashboard and HoloBuilder Dashboard. Stay tuned for more information!

Rest assured, you’ll always know what’s next. If you have any concerns, please feel free to contact our support team, your customer success manager or our product manager marx.bievor@faro.com directly; we are here to help!
