Learn how to reset a HoloViewer version to a previous version to get access to older HoloBuilder project files if needed.

You can easily recover an old version of the Offline HoloViewer app if a backup was made. Always make sure to keep a copy of the complete HoloViewer app folder for backup before updating or uninstalling the Offline HoloViewer app.

Alternatively, you can find the previous Offline HoloViewer versions on the download page. In the download section select Previous version for your operating system and start the download.

Recover a version from your PC

On Windows

Copy the complete HoloViewer folder with the app version you want to use to your desktop. When downloading new projects, the app will be recognized by the system and the newly downloaded projects will be added to the contained project list.

Double click the HoloViewer.exe to start the Offline HoloViewer app and view your projects.

On macOS

Important: The HoloViewer is only supported on Intel Mac - M1+ devices are not compatible.

Copy the HoloViewer.app version you want to use to your Applications folder and double click it there to start it. When downloading new projects, the app will be recognized by the system and the newly downloaded projects will be added to the contained project list.

Download an older version of the Offline HoloViewer

It can happen that for projects that have been downloaded a while ago, the newest HoloViewer app is not fully supported. To have the best experience for these, it helps to get an older Offline HoloViewer app version. You can easily download any previous versions from our website here.
