Our developers always work hard on avoiding any errors or bugs in our FARO programs but errors still might occur. In those cases, it is extremely helpful for our development team to get as much information about the error as possible. Therefore, we ask you to pass on important information that can be found in your browser's console.

Below, we explain in a few easy steps how to open the so-called browser console and how to take a screenshot of the console to pass on to our support team when experiencing any issues in any of our web solutions like the HoloBuilder Web Editor or Sphere XG Viewer:

Opening your browser's console:

Chrome:

  1.  Press CTRL + SHIFT + J to open the console tab of the developer tools.

    OR

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + I or F12 to open the developer tools.

  2. Press ESC or click on Show console (in the bottom right corner) to slide the console up.

Safari:

  1. Press CTRL + ALT + I to open the Web Inspector.

  2. Press ESC or click on Show console in the bottom right corner) to slide the console up.

Firefox:

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + K to open the web console
    (on Macs: COMMAND + SHIFT + K).

    OR (if Firebug is installed)

  1. Press F12 to open Firebug.

  2. Click on the console tab.

Opera:

  1. Press CTRL + SHIFT + I to open Dragonfly.

  2. Click on the console tab.

IE9:

  1. Press F12 to open the developer tools.

  2. Click the console tab.

Capturing & sending a screenshot:

In order for our development team to receive the information from your console, you need to take a screenshot and send it to our support team at support@holobuilder.com. Please make sure to also include a detailed explanation of the issue you experienced as well as the steps you did until the issue occured.

Thank you!
