Working with Tags in the Sphere XG Viewer

Tags help you to classify objects in a project according to shared properties, for example a tag pipes for all pipes in a construction site. You can add tags to annotations and then use tags as filter criteria to show or hide sections of your project.

Note: Categories and tags from WebShare Legacy are migrated to Sphere XG tags.

Create Tags

You create tags at a project level.

  1. Click icon above the project structure view.
The Tag Management form is displayed.

  2. Enter the tag name you want.

  3. Click Add or press ENTER.

  4. Repeat steps 2 and 3 if required.

Added tags are listed below the input field New tag.

Add Tags to an Annotations

You can add tags to an annotation when you create or edit an annotation. See Create and Manage Annotations.

Filter for Tags

  1. Click icon in the toolbar on the right side.

  2. In the filter menu, mark the checkbox of one or more tags.
If there are a lot of tags, you can type the tag name in the search field.
You can also search for all untagged annotations by marking checkbox Untagged. This helps you to identify annotations to which you might need to add tags.

The number of marked tags is displayed on the filter icon. In the active view, only annotations with the marked tags are displayed.

You can deselect all tags by clicking Clear all.

Edit or Delete Tags

Currently, you cannot edit or delete tags. This functionality will be available soon.
