With Point Cloud TimeTravel, you can seamlessly upload all your point cloud scan data, captured at different times, on the same sheet. This allows you to view them across time and compare them with the accuracy the point clouds offer.

Point Cloud TimeTravel

Find out how it works:

Upload Point Cloud

  1. Select a sheet you wish to upload the point cloud scan data. In the example below, we have already two point clouds imported.

    Imported point cloud

  2. Click on Import Point Cloud on the top right of the screen, then select
    Upload from your computer.

    Import Point Cloud dropdown

  3. In the file selection window, select the point cloud file that you want to upload.

    Import Point Cloud field

  4. You can change the date of the scan by clicking on the Time Point calendar button.

    Note:

The original data is still shown as reference. The default/original date is taken from the creation of the point cloud file.

Align Point Cloud to Sheet

If a previous point cloud has already been aligned to the floor plan, the scale of the sheet vs the point cloud has already been set.

  1. Notice the button (1:1) on the right of the screen.

    1:1 button

    Note:

Do not click on this button if you wish to preserve the previously established scale (from the previous alignment)

  2. Only one anchor can be placed if the scale has been applied already:

    Anchor placed on sheet

  3. Once the anchor is placed, you can rotate around the point by clicking and dragging on anywhere else, with the left mouse button.

  4. You are able to delete the anchor point with a right-click.

  5. You can pan around with a middle click on your mouse.

    Note:

If there is any issue with the scale already applied, and you wish to modify the scale, click on the (1:1) button to proceed with resetting the scale.
In this case, you can place and move two anchors.

  6. To define the point cloud height is easiest by clicking on a point on the floor. Alternatively, you can adjust height with the green arrows.

    Tip:

You can rotate the point cloud to reveal the bottom floor, to select more easily the floor.

  7. Click on Confirm Alignment
