The Insta360 raw image format is not the standard equirectangular or cubemap format known in 360° photography. The image format displaying the two views of the lenses as two circles in the flattened image is not compatible with the Sphere XG platform and needs to be converted.
There are two options how you can transfer your Insta360 photos to your Sphere XG or HoloBuilder project.
Via Jobwalk App: When taking the 360 images directly via the JobWalk App, you can simply upload new photos to Sphere XG or HoloBuilder. No additional steps are required.
Via Insta360 app, you can also use these photos in your Sphere XG or HoloBuilder project, but some additional steps are required.
1. On your mobile device, open the Insta360 app.
2. In the app, go to Album and open the photo you want to use in your Sphere XG or Holobuilder project.
Now, you must save the photo in the photo gallery on your mobile device.
3. Tap the Share icon in the upper right corner and then select the photo gallery of your mobile device.
4. Check the photos once more, i.e. whether you want to share 360° or Wide Angle mode, then confirm the transfer.
The photo will be exported to your mobile device's photo gallery. You may have to comfirm the transfer again in your device photo gallery.
The photo is now saved on your mobile device.
5. Connect your mobile device to your computer and upload the photo.
6. Upload the photo to Sphere XG or Holobuilder, see links below.
