A Temporary Workaround

With the recent upgrade to Sphere XG, some users have noticed a change in how group assignments work. Previously, it was possible to attach multiple groups to a single project or scan. However, the current version of Sphere XG only allows assigning one group per project or scan. While our team is actively working to bring back the ability to assign multiple groups, we understand this limitation may cause inconvenience. In the meantime, we have a workaround to help you manage group assignments more effectively.

Workaround to Assign Multiple Groups to a Project or Scan:

Until the new feature is available, you can use the following steps to manually manage access for multiple groups:

  1. Export the Full List of Members:

    • Navigate to the Members section in Sphere XG.

    • Click on Export CSV to download a full list of all members associated with your account.

  2. Organize Your Groups in Excel:

    • Open the exported CSV file in Excel.

    • Sort and filter the list based on your grouping requirements (e.g., by department, project team, or any other criteria you use to organize members).

    • Once you have organized your groups, copy the email addresses of the members from the Email column that you want to assign to a specific project or scan.

  3. Assign Members to a Project or Scan in Sphere XG:

    • Go to the specific project page in Sphere XG.

    • Click on the Team tab, then select Invite Members.

    • Paste the list of email addresses that you copied from Excel into the invitation field.

    • Click Send to grant access to the selected members.

We understand that this workaround may not be ideal and may require some additional effort. Rest assured, our development team is actively working on reintroducing the ability to assign multiple groups to a project or scan in Sphere XG, and we expect this feature to be available soon. We appreciate your patience and understanding as we work to enhance your experience with Sphere XG.
