You can align point clouds to a sheet. If you do not have a sheet, you can also use the grid supplied by Sphere XG to align your point cloud in a symmetrical way.
A sheet (floorplan in Sphere Legacy) a 2D image that can be used to get an overview of an area. It is created by users, software or a CAD system. A sheet may include text, a legend and scale information. Typically, sheets are exported floorplans in .pdf, .png format or sometimes .jpg format.
You must add a sheet to your project upon project creation. You can add further sheets to your project later via the Import button, see below.
1. After you have created a new project, click Open in Sphere XG.
The following form is displayed:
2. Enter a sheet name.
3. Add a sheet via drag&drop or select the file you want from your file system.
Currently supported file types are .pdf, .png, .jpeg/.jpg.
4. Rotate and crop the sheet as required, see description below.

3. Click Use Grid if you do not have a sheet.
In this case a simple grid is added. You can go back to the initial form by clicking Select a Different Image.
4. Click Import to either import your sheet or add a grid to your project.
The Sphere Viewer is displayed with either the sheet or the grid in the project area. Grids have a vertical numerical scale and a horizontal alphabetical scale.
Rotate and Crop Sheet
After you have selected a sheet, you can rotate and crop it with the toolbar buttons.
Rotates the sheet clockwise in 90 steps.
Displays a crop preview on the sheet which you drag to increase or decrease in size.

Import a Sheet into an Existing Project
By default, you must add a sheet to your project upon project creation. However, you can import further sheets via the Import button in the Sphere XG Viewer.
Click the Import Data button in the top right corner of the Sphere XG Viewer.
In the popup, click entry Upload from your computer in section Sheets.
The Import sheet form is opened.
Select the sheet you want from the file system and confirm.
