FARO® Legacy Sphere Viewer is the new "Home" of viewing your HoloBuilder and Legacy Sphere Projects.

The Legacy Sphere Viewer is built on a powerful technology stack that allows the viewing of Point Clouds, 360° Photos, and BIM Models.

This 4D Construction Progress Management tool provides a central location for users to capture, view and share 3D point cloud and 360° photo data over time.

When site analyses for 3D point cloud and 360° data are performed separately in siloes, data organisation, sharing and decision-making on a project can lack effectiveness.

Construction and operation professionals alike can now benefit from faster site updates, easier collaboration, and more reliable progress insights – with all the data housed in a single platform.

How To Get Access To The Legacy Sphere Viewer

IMPORTANT: You cannot subscribe to the FARO Legacy Sphere (or Webshare) solution anymore - Please talk to us to schedule your demo for the new Sphere XG solution instead!

As a customer you will need a HoloBuilder subscription and a FARO Legacy Sphere Subscription to be able to get access to the Legacy Sphere Viewer feature and to connect projects with

Point Cloud. See the Legacy Sphere Viewer in action by requesting a demo.

To connect a Point Cloud, you need the following permissions:

  • You need to be the Project Manager of the HoloBuilder Project.

  • A Legacy Sphere account with a workspace, that allows you to manage projects.

  • In the Legacy Sphere account, you need a WebShare project with at least viewing permissions.

To see a connected project in the Legacy Sphere Viewer please get:

  • Access to the HoloBuilder project.

  • Read access to the linked copy of the HoloBuilder project (called Legacy Sphere Project), that is created in your Legacy Sphere account.

  • Read access to the point cloud, that the project is connected to.

Point Cloud Source:

Point clouds need to be on FARO Legacy Sphere in order to be combined with a HoloBuilder project.

Note:

Make sure to trigger the point cloud creation on WebShare or create a point cloud project in SCENE and upload it to WebShare.

When using devices other than FARO hardware, point clouds (ex. E57) can be imported in FARO SCENE, then uploaded.
