Learn how to download scans from site scape and import them into Sphere XG.

Written by Stefanie Zerulla

You are only a few steps away from the Sphere XG experience. Here's how you get started.

Option 1: Use the SiteScape App to Export Your Projects and Upload to Sphere XG

1. Open the SiteScape app.

2. Sign in to your Sphere XG account, not your SiteScape account.

3. Once logged in, scan the desired area.

4. Tap Done in the toolbar on the right side.

The scan pops up on the screen

5. Tap the Upload button.

The Share to Sphere XG pop up will be displayed.

6. Click the pop up.

7. Select your workspace (if you have access to more than one workspace).

Now, decide if you want to create a new project in Sphere XG (Option 1a) or if you want to add the scan to an already existing Sphere XG project (Option 1b).

OPTION 1a: Creating a new project

8. Select the Group to which the project will belong in Sphere XG.

9. Optional: Edit the Project Name.

10. Tap Create to create the project.

11. Tap the Upload button

The scan will be uploaded to Sphere XG.

OPTION 1b: Adding the scan to an existing project

8. Select a project from the existing projects.

You do not need to select a group, because all existing Sphere XG projects already have a group assignment.

9. Tap the Upload button.

The scan will be added to the selected project.

NOTE: You can of course also export your project from SiteScape in .e57 format and then import into Sphere XG. However, this option does not export the photos you have taken in addition to the scans.

Option 2: Use the SiteScape2XG Converter to Export Your Projects

1. Download the Sitescape2XG Converter and User guide from our FARO Knowledge Base.

2. Follow the instructions on the page.

Quick Start to Sphere XG

1. Open Sphere XG.
No Sphere XG account yet? See Create Sphere XG Account and Log in.

2. Create and open a new project, see section Create a new Project in the Getting Started With Sphere XG - Create and Edit Projects article.

3. Drag and drop your SiteScape scans onto the Bring your data into the cloud page.

The project draft view is opened.

4. Follow the instructions on this page.

If you select Automatic, the project will be uploaded, processed and published automatically. (You can still make changes later). If you select Manual review, the process stops before publishing and allows you to review the project.

5. Click Let's start on this page to open your Sphere XG project.

Your SiteScape project is now available in Sphere XG, including scans, photos, measurements and comments. (Comments are called annotations in Sphere XG.)

Welcome to Sphere XG!

Here's some information for your first steps.
