Floor plans are helpful to understand the general layout of a site. You can also use a floor plan as a layer or area in your project, see also Import a Sheet as New Area or New Layer. For situations where no floor plan is available, Sphere XG provides the floor plan generation feature in the Viewer.

NOTE: The floor plan creation is charged with 50 tokens. For further information on tokens, see Manage Tokens on the Subscriptions Page.

To start floor plan generation, you only need a point cloud. However, further scan data like an overview map and panorama images improve the quality and accuracy of the floor plan.

1. In the project structure view click the three-dots menu of the point cloud for which you want to request a floor plan.

2. Select the Generate floor plan menu entry.

The following form will be displayed:

3. Select whether the floor plan should have Metric or Imperial units.

4. Click Continue.

An order summary will be displayed stating the order details:

NOTICE: Tokens cannot be refunded. Once submitted, you cannot cancel this order.

This form also displays the remaining tokens of your workspace.

5. After you have checked the order summary, click Submit in the confirmation form.

6. Click OK in this final form to close it.

The floor plan generation will take up to three business days. You will be notified via email when the floor plan is available for download.

At the end of the ordering process, a feedback form will be displayed. Please let us know what you think about the ordering process.

Check Status of Floor Plan Generation

While the floor plan generation is running, you can check the status and request support:

A dropdown list will be opened.

2. Copy your floor plan order ID by clicking the Copy icon behind your Order ID.

3. Then click Contact support in the dropdown.

Your email client will be opened. The email body is already complete with support request, the Sphere XG project ID and the floor plan order ID.

4. Add further information if required.

5. Send the email.

Open and Download a Generated Floor Plan in the Email Notification

When the floor plan is ready, you will be notified via email.

The email will contain information about the project for which you requested the floor plan as well as links to the project and the floor plan in .pdf, .png, .jpg and .svg format. Clicking any of these floor plan links will open the floor plan in the browser.

Click the download icon in the browser to download the floor plan to your computer.

The download links in the email will expire after 30 days but you will still be able to open and download the floor plan in the Sphere XG project in the Cloud activity form, see below.
