If uploading, processing and registering Blink scans finishes successfully, you can still choose to inspect and edit the registration. However, this is not required.
If the uploading, processing and registering Blink scans finishes with issues, this usually due to a failure in registration, i.e. one or more scans could not be connected. In this case, you should open the inspection view and then select Edit registration.
Inspect the Registration
Inspect the Registration
Click Inspect under Registration in the workflow progress bar.
The Registration - Inspect page is displayed.
On this page, you can:
View the registered scans in a tree view and in the viewer. You can toggle single scans on and off in the tree view by clicking the icon.
Show a registration quality report showing distances between points, overlap and connection details. A color code shows the overall quality at a glance: green for good quality, yellow for medium quality and red for bad quality.
Enter the registration editing mode.
Publish the scans, if the registration meets your requirements.
Change between top, front and right side view.
Change between the 2D and 3D view. In the 3D view, you can rotate the point cloud in all directions. Moving the point cloud does not affect the position of the single scans. In the 3D view, you can change between a perspective camera view and an orthographic camera view.
Edit the Registration
Edit the Registration
On this page you can manually move scans to the position you want.
Click the Edit registration button.
The Registration - Edit page is displayed.
This view has the same toolbars as the Registration - Inspect page, see above. An additional toolbar on the right side allows adding or removing connections between scans.
Note: You can only edit the registration in the 2D view.
Move and Rotate Scans
To translate and rotate a scan:
Click to insert and anchor point.
Then drag or rotate the scan until it is in the correct position.
Add or Delete Connections
To add a connection, click the icon and then the two scans you want to connect.
New connections are displayed in gray. Registered connections are displayed green, yellow or red depending on their registration result.
To delete a connection, click the icon and then the connection you want to delete.
To exit the connection editing mode click the icon again.
Publish Scans
Publish Scans
When all scans are positioned correctly:
Click the Refine & Publish button.
The scans will be registered at their new positions and published automatically if the registration is successful.
Note: If you are not able to position all scans correctly or if the Refine and Publish procedure fails, you can publish the scans as they are without registration.
For this purpose, click button Publish without refinement.
