Republishing SCENE Projects Troubleshooting

How to republish a SCENE project to be able to hide and shows scans in the 3D view.

In the 3D view, you can hide and show scans in real time by clicking the icon in the project structure view.

This only works for projects that were either created or republished in Sphere XG after January 2026. In any other projects, only the waypoints, i.e. the graphic representation of the scans, will be hidden.

NOTICE: Risk of data loss! Republishing a project uploaded via SCENE will remove manual edits from the project point cloud in Sphere XG as described below. Read this description carefully and then decide if you want to republish the project.

If you republish a project uploaded via SCENE, project point cloud data will be replaced in Sphere XG. The original project point cloud will still be available in the SCENE software. However, this will lead to different project states in Sphere XG and SCENE with the risk of overwriting the republished Sphere XG project point cloud if you synchronize the project again in SCENE.

Changes in SCENE that will still be present after republishing

Processing, registration and manual edits in SCENE done on individual scans before creating the project point cloud.

Changes in SCENE that will NOT be present after republishing

  • Any filters applied in SCENE while creating the project point cloud, for example noise reduction in Blink scans or the distance filter.
See Creating the Project Point Cloud in the SCENE user manual for more information on filters for the project point cloud creation.

  • Manual clean-up in the point cloud, for example deleting points manually.
