How to view a HoloBuilder SiteStream in the (mobile) browser

Learn more on how to view the livestream of a site via a mobile device or desktop in the HoloBuilder web viewer.

IMPORTANT: SiteStream can only be used with the Ricoh Theta V camera.

Note: In order to view a SiteStream, a 360 camera needs to be configured correctly and linked to the location in the project. Learn how to set up SiteStream here.

If a HoloBuilder project has SiteStream enabled and configured for one or more locations, they can easily be viewed in the project via your desktop or mobile web browser. 

Note: SiteStream can only be viewed by one remote user at a time.

What you need: 

  1. A project with SiteStream set up - learn more

  2. Access permission on this project - learn more

  3. Camera password - shared by the person who set up SiteStream for this camera

View a SiteStream

You can access and share the on-site live stream in the HoloBuilder web editor or viewer on your desktop as well as a mobile device.

View your live steam on a desktop

  1. Go to the HoloBuilder web editor and log in or access the project via a dedicated share link directly in the viewer mode.

  2. Load the project in which you set up the live stream.

  3. Switch to preview mode.

  4. Open the scene for which you set up the live stream.

  5. Click on the live stream icon in the bottom right corner.

  6. Enter the password you chose for the live stream during the setup in the JobWalk app.

  7. The live stream for the selected location on your project will turn on.

    Note: The recording led on the camera will turn on to show that the camera is streaming.

  1. To stop the live stream, click the live steam button again in the preview or close the browser window.

View your live steam on mobile

Alternatively, you can also directly view a HoloBuilder project including a 360 SiteStream remotely with your mobile device.

  1. Open the project with the live stream via the JobWalk app or a share link on a mobile device of your choice.

  2. Open the scene for which you set up the live stream.

  3. Tap on the live stream icon in the bottom right corner.

  4. Enter the password you chose for the live stream during the setup in the JobWalk app.

  5. The live stream for the selected location on your project will turn on.

    Note: The recording led on the camera will turn on to show that the camera is streaming.

  6. To stop the live stream, tap the live steam button again in the browser view or close the browser window.

Share the live stream

The project including the live stream can be shared as any other project. Find out more about your custom sharing settings here.

In order for others to also access the live site stream, please share the camera’s password you have set up safely with this person.

Please note: The camera will automatically recover if it fails for unknown reasons. It only needs to go through the initialization process again which might take a moment.

FAQ

How can I set the video quality?

The live stream video quality will automatically adjust based on the internet speed with up to 4K live stream.

Why can't I access the live stream?

If a SiteStream is not accessible, it is possible that the camera turned off for some reason, e.g. empty battery if the power source was not correctly installed or disconnected, or the wifi connection on-site for the camera got disconnected.
